Mr. Schliewe grew up in Watertown, WI, where he attended Northwestern Prep (now Luther Prep). He graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor’s degree (1996) and a Master’s degree in education and leadership (2018). He is married to another WELS teacher (Michelle) and has two children (both Hope Christian Academy – MI grads). Alexis is a college student at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI studying occupational safety standards, while Logan lives in Westland, MI working as a sales associate for a Volvo truck sales and service shop.

Mr. Schliewe has enjoyed working with teenagers as a Lutheran Elementary School principal (20 years) and as a high school history teacher and assistant principal and coach (8 years), leading them to analyze and problem solve as they use their 21st Century skills to tackle problems that will come their way. Getting to carry out that type of ministry in Jesus’ name is the best profession there is! He looks forward to serving God’s people here at Zion Lutheran Church and School!
